Bow Ruggeri for Rancho Santa Fe School Board

Preserving what makes Roger Rowe special.

I'm a Roger Rowe dad — a 2nd grader and a kindergartner this year. I'm running because a school this good doesn't stay this good on its own. It takes people paying careful attention, year after year.

What I'd focus on

Protect what works. Plan for what's next.

Roger Rowe is an exceptional school. I'm not running to reinvent it. I'm running to help keep it strong — and to make sure the decisions we make now still look smart ten years from now.

01

Preserve Educational Excellence

The academics, the small classes, the culture — these are the reasons families choose Roger Rowe. Protecting them is the job.

02

Support Teachers and Staff

Great schools are made of great people. Recruiting them, backing them up, and keeping them here matters more than almost anything else.

03

Responsible Stewardship

Careful budgeting, honest tradeoffs, and healthy reserves — so the school stays steady through whatever the next few years bring.

04

Plan for the Future

Enrollment, facilities, curriculum, and technology deserve a real long-term plan, not a year-by-year scramble.

Why I'm running

Because good schools are worth looking after.

A few years ago my family moved here in large part because of this school. Since then I've watched my kids grow up in it — learning to read, making friends, coming home genuinely excited about a science project. It's easy to take that for granted. I don't.

I've also spent my career building and running organizations, which mostly taught me two things. First, the healthiest organizations are the ones where people are honest about tradeoffs instead of pretending there aren't any. Second, most good decisions come from listening carefully before you decide anything at all.

I don't have a list of things I want to overhaul. What I want is a board that asks good questions, explains its reasoning, keeps the finances in order, and thinks a decade ahead — so the school my kindergartner graduates from is at least as good as the one she just walked into.

If that sounds like the kind of steady, unglamorous work you'd want on the board, I'd appreciate your vote — and honestly, I'd appreciate your input even more.
